The function of the heating plate of the electric rice cooker is to provide the heat required for cooking and keep it warm. It works like this:

Cooking: When you turn on a rice cooker, the heating plate, usually located on the bottom of the rice cooker, starts to heat up. When the water and rice in the pot are heated, the water starts to boil and the rice absorbs the boiling water. The warming plate maintains a consistent temperature, ensuring that the rice is cooked evenly. The melting point of rice is 110°C,when reach to rice’s melting point, rice will be ready.

Boiling and Simmering: The hot plate alternately cooks and simmers the rice to achieve the desired texture. This cycle continues until the rice cooker's built-in thermostat detects that the rice is cooked.

Keep warm: After the rice is cooked, many rice cookers have a "keep warm" function. The heating plate switches to a lower temperature to keep the cooked rice warm and ready to serve. This feature is especially useful when you are not going to eat the rice right away after it is cooked.

To sum up, the basic function of the heating plate of an electric rice cooker is to control the temperature of cooking, ensure that the rice is cooked evenly, and keep the cooked rice warm until it is eaten. It simplifies the process of cooking rice and helps to achieve consistently good results with minimal effort.
